Durango Colorado Splash Down Diving
Cozumel - March 1-8, 2008
We had 21 people join us on our Cozumel trip and I believe all had a fantastic time.  The diving was great.  We saw turtles, rays, sea cucumbers, eels, drummer fish, lobsters, crabs and much more as we drifted along the reef.
Fiesta American was a wonderful host the service was friendly, there was a varity of food choices, some off the menu, some buffet style.  Everyone was able to find something they enjoyed.  I believe almost everyone enjoyed the unlimited beverages.  The rooms were very nicely done each one was a little different then the other.  All were equiped with AC, TV and hot showers.
The Dive House was a fun group to dive with.  They handled all of our needs.  We got a little spoiled when it came to setting up our equipment.
All and all we had a great group of people and a fantastic trip.  This is one location we will revisit.

 San Salvador, Bahamas – May 3-10, 2008
What a wonderful trip.  There were 8 of us who ventured out on this long jouney to explore San Salvador.  I think we are all glad we did.  We were a little uneasy as we sat in the third airport on a three hour lay over, but we all agreed it was well worth it.
Riding Rock Inn is a very simple friendly family oriented dive resort.  This is definately a diver's destination.  You will not have the extra cirricular entertainment, but you will have a very unique dive experience.
Patrick was a excellent dive guide for us during our stay.  We experienced 17 very unique dives.  Half way during the week he even managed to give us all an afternoon tour of the island.  If you ever needed something from the store all you had to do was ask and he was ready and willing to give you a ride.
If you are looking for a truly relaxing dive destination this is a place for you.  Lots of big coral and swim throughs.  We were amazed at the schools of fish, lion fish, eels, rays, turtles and sharks.  We even saw a couple of hammerheads.
Riding Rock is well worth the trip.  I do think all of us would recommend an overnight stay on your way to the island instead of traveling the trip out all in one day.
Bonaire – May 31st – June 7, 2008

What a trip.  We had 26 guest with us on this trip.  Some were doing their very first ocean dives.  One even finished up her open water course while in Bonaire.  The diving ranged from a minimum of 12 dives with the most dives for one diver was 23.  We had 4 people receive their advanced open water certification and 3 people receive their Underwater Naturalist Specialty.

This is a great location to go to.  There is no schedule.  If you feel like diving, all you have to do is pick up a tank and go.  Make sure you bring your buddy and your computer.

Buddy's Dive Resort was a wonderful host.  The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and very comfortable which each unit having a kitchen area.

To end the trip we all boarded a beautiful sailboat for a sunset rum cocktail party.
Channel Islands – August 2 - 6, 2008

Explore the famous kelp beds of the Channel Islands.  Dive the magical surroundings of these islands and venture back in time to what our unspoiled coastline was like over a century ago.

A Channel Islands trip offers you the opportunity to discover a variety of underwater landscapes. Water visibility in these waters can range from 40 to 100 feet and on rare occasions sometimes even up to 150 feet. There are untold opportunities for viewing and photographing a panorama of underwater vistas. Unlike the coral reefs of tropical waters, the reefs in the Channel Islands are comprised of varied types of rock structures and kelp forests. Like coral reefs, the cracks and crevices provide ideal living quarters for many species. The rocks are overlaid with brightly colored bouquets of starfish, and garlands of hydrocoral. Moray eels, octopus, abalone, rock scallops, California spiny lobsters, and a host of others inhabit rock fissures and crevices. Divers may chance upon giant black sea bass weighing in at 500 pounds, or a halibut, lingcod, vermilion rockfish, calico bass and more. Migrating gray whales, blue whales, hump back whales, schools of dolphins, seals and sea lions are familiar sightings in the Channel Islands during crossings.

If you would like to try your hand at spear fishing this is the trip for you.  A California Fishing License is required and can be purchased prior to leaving shore.  If you are interested in taking a class prior to going please contact Terry @ 385-8518.

Curacao – November 1 - 8, 2008

Curacao has a warm sunny climate all year round, with an average temperature in the mid-80's. The average rainfall is less than 20 inches. In general, cooling trade winds make the days pleasant and temperate and the evenings very comfortable and enjoyable. Curacao's location in the leeward west portion of the southern Caribbean Sea places it outside the hurricane belt; only four hurricanes have come near the island in the last hundred years. Occasionally, a tropical storm brewing elsewhere in the Caribbean can cause uncharacteristically cloudy weather and rain for a day or two.
