Durango Colorado Splash Down Diving

Rescue Class

One of PADI’s educational goals is to have all divers progress through the Rescue Diver Class. It’s great to have well trained and aware divers interacting with other divers on our dive trips and classes. I’m sure you’ll find that this class will give you a high degree of confidence in your diving abilities. Thanks for joining us. Listed below is information that will be helpful to you.

This 4 week class consists of 5 academic sessions, 2 pool sessions, and 2 days of Open Water Dives. During the 2 hour academic sessions, your instructor will review information that is important for you to know as a Rescue Diver. To prepare for these classes, it’s best to watch the appropriate section of your video, read the appropriate chapter, and complete the knowledge review at the end of the chapter. Along with basic diving information, your instructor will customize information for your particular diving interests. If you can’t make an academic session, let us know so that we can reschedule for you. During the pool sessions, you will gain mastery of rescue diving skills. At the end of the class, you will use these rescue skills in realistic scenarios during your Open Water Dives. If you don’t already have a current CPR/1st Aid certification, we have scheduled the Emergency First Response course within the structure of this class. The EFR course will satisfy the CPR/1st Aid requirement for the Rescue Diver Certification.
